Iolani Palace inviting children to Easter egg hunt

HONOLULU (AP) Iolani Palace will host an Easter egg hunt and children’s tours next month.

The palace is inviting children of all ages to fill their baskets with eggs hidden in ten locations on palace grounds. Participants will be able to learn about Iolani Palace history along the way.

The palace is encouraging people to come dressed in royal regalia. They will award prizes for the best costumes.

Children are invited to enter an Iolani Palace coloring contest.

The egg hunt is scheduled for the morning of April 13.

The palace was built by King David Kalakaua as the official home of the Hawaiian monarchy. The Honolulu structure is a National Historic Landmark.
